This was a crazy day. When Shane and I got to the airport we made reservations to go to Tulum and see the ruins and shop in Playa Del Carmen and get the ferry transportation from Cozumel. What we found out as we were leaving the hotel is at the bottom of our ticket it reads in Spanish that they wanted us to sit through a time share presentation before we got all of the freebies. We were not going to waste our vacation on that. The reason it is in Spanish is so we never find out. When we signed up they just said Sandals resort was sponsoring it and we could get a free breakfast through them and check out the new resort; no presentation was mentioned. Anyway, we got our money back that we put towards it and went to Playa Del Carmen on our own. We sat on the top part of the ferry and had a band play some music to keep us company for the 30 minute trip. Once we got over to Playa Del Carmen we ventured through the main street looking in the shops. Shane was looking for a pair of linen pants for the wedding, but he never found anything he liked. We ate at a restaurant in Playa Del Carmen and stayed there until about 1. We caught the ferry going back and finished shopping in Cozumel. It was hot on this day and Playa Del Carmen pretty much had the same shops over and over. In Cozumel most of the shops had no price tags and the ladies hounded you to name your price. It was more annoying than anything. It was hard to look at anyhting without someone trying to get you to name a price. I got a good deal on a pretty skirt and a purse. Shane got a t-shirt and I think that is all we bought that night. Oh, and at lunch a guy took our picture and placed it on a bottle of tequila- so we bought our fourth bottle of tequila at lunch. Dinner we had at a Mexican restaurant overlooking the water. That was pretty much our day- shopping in the two cities.
